Air Induction Cleaning – Making Sense Of Power & Performance

There is a way you can restore your vehicle to peak performance in no time. Autobarn are experts in restoring BMW, Mercedes and BMW Mini to their optimum performance by

Only this detailed process will remove the carbon deposits that build up over time and give you back the car you once knew.

So does you BMW, Mercedes or Mini have any symptoms?

Are you experiencing rough idle, bad acceleration, misfire, pinging, knocking, hard starting, hesitation or just poor performance? This can be caused by carbon buildup in your engine and our Induction cleaning service can be just what the doctor ordered to help your car get back to that performance you remember!

Why does this happen to modern vehicles?

Modern engines are often direct injection, as this process allows for advantages in fuel consumption as well as yielding more power. This means the fuel is injected directly into the combustion chamber of each cylinder and not in the intake tract. As a consequence the fuel injectors are no more placed before the intake valve, but directly in the cylinder itself.

The disadvantage of this is that the regular bathing and cleaning of the intake valves by way of the fuel that they are exposed to does not happen any more. Over time, this leads to deposits of carbonised fuel and oil in the intake tract as well as on the intake valves themselves. This is not immediately bad for the engine, but left can have a detrimental effect on its efficiency. If the valves are heavily carbonized, they may not close properly and symptoms such as a bumpy idle, vibrations and diminished throttle response can be observed; it may also contribute to increased oil consumption.

This carbonising effect is an inevitable byproduct of direct injection. It cannot be prevented. This is why Autobarn introduce a special cleaning agent into the intake manifold with the engine running. This agent dissolves the carbon deposits, which are then emitted out of the tail pipe. This results in you gaining back the kind of performance you had when your car was younger.

This service, like all services performed at Autobarn, is advised based on manufacturer’s recommendations, or as determined by our inspection and based on industry standards. The most cost effective way to carry out this service is at the same time as an oil service.

If you have any of these symptoms - rough idle, bad acceleration, misfire, pinging, knocking, hard starting, hesitation or just poor performance then call us today on 01604 644266 or email for our expert advise.
